OpTic Gaming has decided to change their roster by dropping Shahzeb "ShahZam" Khan and signing Spanish player Óscar "mixwell" Cañellas. #OpTicCSGO: Roster change- https://t.co/Cqf61FAyJv — OpTic Gaming™ (@OpTicGaming) April 13, 2016 Damian “Daps” Steele will be taking over as captain. After entering into the CS:GO scene by acquiring Conquest’s former roster, OpTic has had a mixed performance. The squad defeated Lounge Gaming 2-0 to take top spot at ELEAGUE's Road to Vegas. The win netted the team $35,000 but more importantly it gave OpTic a spot at ELEAGUE’s main event and a shot at its $1.2 million prize pool. The win was followed by a loss at DreamHack Austin after the team was forced to forfeit their closed qualifying match against BOTS due to Daps having an unidentified emergency. The team was unable to find a suitable replacement in time. ShaZam said on Twitter that leaving the team wasn’t his decision. There's nothing more I wanted than to stay with OG but unfortunately it wasn't my decision, best of luck to m1xwell and the guys! — Shahzeb Khan (@OpTic_ShahZaM) April 13, 2016 m1xwell is joining OpTic from Spanish organization gBots eSports Club, a team that has done well in national tournaments but has not seen success on the international stage. Would like to thank everyone on @teamgBots specially my teammates and @Adrig6, you always helped me in my bad moments! — mixwell (@m1xwell) April 13, 2016 Will Alcopra is a News Editor at theScore esports.
